We are planning our annual camping trip!! August 14th-16th... two night stay at West Branch State Park.
Our camp sites are 73 and 74. We're not quite sure on price yet, but probably around $15-$20 per person. If you are interested in helping plan or if you have any ideas... pass them along!
Letter from VLBF Leadership Team 7/12
Dear Friends,
As a church, we have experienced a major conflict with our former pastor, Steve Andrews. Using the principles of reconciliation as outlined in Scripture, the Leadership Team had the opportunity to work with three volunteer conciliators who have been trained through Peacemaker Ministries and to take the steps to reconcile with both Steve and Julie Andrews. We have learned much about living out Matthew 18:15-17 as well as better communication and Biblical peacemaking principles. We, the Leadership Team, Steve, and Julie collectively, have also learned how to grow to be more like Christ through confession, repentance, and forgiveness.
Steve and Julie Andrews have voluntarily worked very hard with two of the conciliators for the past six months. They have recognized areas of sin in which they have wounded individuals and the congregation as a whole. They have met with the Leadership Team members both individually and as a whole to confess and be reconciled. The Leadership Team, individually and collectively, has forgiven Steve and Julie of those sins and has reconciled their relationships with Steve and Julie. At this time, Steve and Julie, with the Leadership Team’s full support, would like to speak to the congregation at Vesper Lake Bible Fellowship to humbly confess their sin so that there may be healing through confession, repentance, and forgiveness.
The Leadership Team, likewise, has worked diligently over the past six months with the conciliators in Biblical peacemaking principles. We have recognized areas of sin in which we have also wounded individuals and the congregation as a whole. We have met with Steve and Julie both individually and as a whole to confess and be reconciled. The Leadership Team will also take this opportunity to confess sin that the Lord has revealed to them.
We praise God for what has taken place in each of our lives as well as Steve and Julie’s lives. We encourage you to join us on Sunday, July 19, 2009, during our morning worship service to see God glorified through this time of confession, repentance, and forgiveness as an act of worship.
VLBF Leadership Team,
- Jim Burkett
- Zoltan Csepe
- Joe DiRocco
- Brad Horner
- Jacob Kroslak

Young Adult Bible Study Change for 7/6
Monday, June 29, 2009
New VLBF Bible Study on 7/20
Please consider joining us for an in-depth Bible study on the topic of marriage and a rich time of fellowship and friendship!
Starting on July 20th we will begin a home based study using the book and study guide entitled “Sacred Marriage” by Gary Thomas (see book description attached).
The Bible study will be limited (due to space considerations and group dynamics) to a small group of no more than six couples. If there are more couples who are interested we will try to begin a second study or have a waiting list for another study in the new year.

Project Shine 6/21-26
This year we have 7 going in the Youth Group to Project Shine. Project Shine is a local missions trip we do each year to work in the Kenmore area of Akron. We will be painting houses, both inside and out, small construction projects, and yard work to the residents in need. This is a great way to minister the Gospel of our Lord through service to our extended community. We have built relationships with Project Shine over the last four years and are looking forward to a great week this summer. There is a cost of $175 each for the students going and we are seeking to raise this money at our dinner. Prayerfully consider donating to our God by giving our teens the opportunity to serve Him at Project Shine. For more information on Project Shine check out www.projectshineakron.org.
Youth Group Fund Raiser Dinner 6/14
I would like to invite you to our Youth Group’s Fund Raiser Dinner. Come and enjoy a dinner made, prepared and served by our teens who are heading to Project Shine in three weeks. After Dinner there will be testimony from teens on previous service projects followed by a teaching by Pastor Brad.

Letter from Harry See 4/8
“I almost thank our God on every remembrance of you.” (Phil. 1: 3)?How could I miss quote my life verse? As resurrection Sunday approaches I am sending you this message to be an encouragement to us all and allow God's Holy Spirit to lead us all up to the altar of sacrifice so we may be reconciled with our Creator and Savior and our fellow brothers and sisters.
Since the beginning of the year I haven't been able to fellowship with you as much as I would have liked. I greatly miss our time together. I miss talking with you directly but I heard through the grape vine that some of you have had something against your brothers on the leadership team; either not liking the way things were done or the way things were explained and have come to seek out another fellowship.
As your brother in Christ and the father of four children it is extremely difficult for me to explain to my children why you've left. I've been asked "Don't they believe in Jesus anymore?” or “Don't they like our church?”. Jesus said, “But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment…Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.” (Matt. 5: 22-24) and “In the same way, let your life shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your father in heaven”. (Matt. 5:16)
This is the week of Good Friday. Satan is having a party over things that should never divide us. The believers are treating people they work with better then there brothers and sisters in Christ. I'm praying for you on a continual basis. This Friday and Sunday we come together to worship God our Savior. By our actions we tell who we serve. You have to serve somebody, who will it be?
With Christian love,
Harry See
“I thank our God on every remembrance of you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Phil. 1: 3-6
