Ministry Planning Meeting 8/30

This is just a reminder that our ministry planning meeting is THIS SUNDAY, Aug. 30th immediately following our morning service. Lunch will be provided and some of the older kids whose parents are attending the meeting have offered to watch the younger ones in the Sunday school wing.

Please meet in the fellowship hall, grab your lunch and find a seat. The meeting will start promptly at 12 noon. Since this is the first meeting, and all the ministries need to be covered, please try to limit your content (i.e. updates, ministry overview, scheduling, etc.) to around 5 minutes per ministry. Please come prepared with your information and 20 copies of anything you would like passed out. If you have something that you would like me to copy, please send it to me via email by Friday morning.

Rummage Sale 9/18 8am-4pm

Saturday Sept 19th 8am-4pm, sponsored by VLBF Ladies LETS GO Ministries, located on VLBF's front lawn. All proceeds go towards VLBF youth missions.

Donations Needed:

• Tools
• Toys
• Baby clothes
• Good condition household items
• Candy, Baked goods, and Canned pop

Workers Needed:

• People to help setup before and tear down after the sale
• People to man the tables for sell
• People to help face paint
• People to sell baked goods, candy, and pop

Church Meeting 9/13 @ 7pm

There will be a church meeting to further discuss the possible merger with TSIC on Sunday, Sept. 13th @ 7pm. Childcare will be provided. All are welcome to attend. If you have any questions, please contact an elder.

Pig Roast Sign Up and Help Needed 9/6

PIG ROAST/Teen Fellowship Night Sign up to help with our Annual Pig Roast on Sunday, September 6th! Sign-ups are located in the church foyer. There will be a youth group fellowship night on Saturday, September 5th. All jr. and sr. highers are invited to attend this fun night of fellowship, worship, and open mic time! Please pass the word on to friends in town for the Pig Roast and from school!

New Birth Meals for Cappers and Pavkovs 8/26

Let's celebrate God's newest blessings to our church, Ava Genevieve Capper and Hannah Joy Pavkov, by blessing their parents with meals! There will be sign up sheets in the foyer on Sunday.

WOL Registration 8/30

WORD OF LIFE Registration for VLBF's Wednesday evening WOL children's program begins Sunday, August 30, 2009. Sign up before and after morning services in the foyer. There will be nursery supervision for ages 0 - 2, Gopher Buddies for ages 3, 4, 5 and Kindergarten, and Olympians for grades 1 - 6. The Olympians require a QUIET TIME book which costs $20 (25% discount for multiple family members). Sign up your child, grandchild, neighbor or friend now. Our goal is reaching youth whose needs constantly change with Biblical truths that never changes.

Adult Fellowship 8/29

There will be an Adult Fellowship activity of hiking followed by a dinner this Saturday, August 29. We are meeting in the parking lot at 3:00 p.m. at Whipps Ledges in Hinckley Reservation to hike. At 5:00 p.m. everyone will meet at the home of Jeremiah and Cheryl Dillon for a cookout. Please bring either a side dish or dessert. Meat, soda, and paper products will be provided. RSVP by August 28.

WOL meeting Thursday 8/20 @ 7:30pm

For all those who would like to help grow up our children in the Lord, please prayerfully consider attending a WOL planning meeting for the 2009-2010. Thursday, August 20, 2009. The meeting will start promptly at 7:30 p.m. at Jerry & Patti Emich's home.

Member Meeting 8/23 @ 7pm

The packet attached to this email is intended to aid in your preparation for our Member’s Meeting, scheduled for Sunday, August 23rd, at 7:00 p.m.

Please look through all enclosed documents. Compare and evaluate The Sanctuary In Christ documents and the current Vesper Lake Bible Fellowship documents. Included is also an explanation of the “Top Ten Things You See in a Church Merger”.

Deacon nominee, Steven Isak’s bio is also included for your reference.

We will be voting for his potential new role at the meeting. If you have any concerns or questions that can be addressed prior to the meeting, please contact an elder. Please come prepared with any questions you have regarding the potential merger.

Girl Only Swim Party 8/22 @ 4pm

There will be a Girls Only Swim Party THIS Saturday beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Patty Emich's house for all youth group girls. Dinner and snacks will be provided. Contact Ashley Gruich at with any questions.

Family Night Camp Wrap-Up 8/9 @ 5:30pm

This Sunday night, Aug. 9th, at 5:30 p.m. we will be having a family night and followed by a camp wrap-up in the pavilion. This will be a great time to share testimonies and hear about what God did at MW Camp this year! Please bring a dish to share. All are welcome to attend!

Ladies Day at the Lake 8/6 @ 11am

Ladies Day at The Lake!!!!! Tomorrow: Thursday @ 11:00 Bring your kids and friends for a day of swimming, fishing, fun and fellowship at Blue Bird Lake located off Conestoga Dr. in Copley. Pack a lunch and bring beach chairs, sand toys, and fishing poles if you like. Hope you can come!!!! ( any questions call Patty Emich)

RUMMAGE SALE 9/19

RUMMAGE SALE coming up on Saturday, September 19th taking place our church front lawn. This is a great time to clean out, pare down and simplify your life. Furniture, tools, toys, housewares, baby/children's clothing are good sellable items. Proceeds are earmarked for teen missions and more information will be forthcoming. Members Meeting 8/23 @ 7pm

There will be a duly called members meeting the evening of August 23rd at 7:00 p.m. We will be discussing the possibility of a merger with The Sanctuary In Christ and voting on potential Deacon candidate Steve Isak. Please make every effort to attend. If you have questions that can be answered prior to the meeting, please do so by contacting an elder.This Sunday, August 9th The Sanctuary In Christ has graciously agreed to come and celebrate Sunday worship services with us. Stan Milovancev will be filling our pulpit this Sunday. They have canceled their services and are bringing their congregation to fellowship with us. Please make them feel welcomed to our service and get to know them as they are here.

Need Volunteer for Sunday Mornings

We are looking for volunteers to be on a rotation to sit with Bill Hrubik on Sunday mornings so that our sister, Tiny, will be able to fellowship and worship with us during our Sunday morning services.
